About us and Team DFMH
‘The Federation’ (DFMH) began as the Federation of West Derbyshire Mental Health Support Groups in 1984. It commenced life as an affiliation of self-help groups then following joint Social Services and health funding took on the role of direct mental health support. This has expanded to include work on behalf of the Derbyshire County Council and NHS primary care. From our beginnings in the Derbyshire Dales, we now also operate in the High Peak, Chesterfield and areas to the south. In 2006 we became a charitable company limited by guarantee under the new name The Derbyshire Federation for Mental Health.
